Sam began teaching English as a second language in 2003 on a gap year to underprivileged children in the north of Thailand. Since 2009, he has worked for various language centres, companies and universities, teaching Business English, IELTS and test prep, and skills for writing. He completed a master degree in Applied Linguistics (with distinction) from The University of Birmingham. His research interests include the application of cognitive linguistics in the classroom and metaphoric competence.
